Healing the Past

Growing the Future

Welcome to SMARTmoves!

We are your source for training in Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART), a powerful healing approach for children who have experienced maltreatment and emotional neglect within their caregiving system, in addition to other chronic stressors. SMART was designed to treat the consequences of these adverse experiences, which we now understand as Developmental Trauma.

We, at SMARTmoves, share the belief that children’s natural tendency is toward adaptation, healing and growth. However, for traumatized children to bring these capacities into play, they need special care and attuned scaffolding, combined with the proper environment, where they can move their bodies, and engage their sensory, motor, arousal, emotional, relational and cognitive systems.

SMARTmoves was founded to make this unique new treatment available to all who share our passion and commitment to care for traumatized children and their families.

SMARTmoves, LLC stands in partnership and solidarity with activists, organizers, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) protesting systems of oppression, racism, and institutional violence that cause trauma to Black and Brown bodies across our country.
