Advanced Consultation

Advanced Consultation is designed for therapists looking to solidify skills and address complex cases weaving Trauma Processing, Attachment-Building, and Somatic Regulation.

Participants present clinical video of their SMART sessions to colleagues and certified SMART consultants in each meeting. Video Reflection focuses deeply on the Trauma Processing and Attachment-Building threads while supporting Somatic Regulation in the background. Emphasis is placed on assessing, treating, and adapting treatment over the arc of a session and treatment as a whole.

Participants build proficiency in caregiver consultation and psychoeducation to providers in the child’s life (teachers, after school supports, coaches etc.) using the SMART lens to promote understanding of trauma’s unique impact on the child’s functioning and generalizing strategies developed in treatment to daily life.

Advanced consultation is a prerequisite for Certification providing an opportunity to build some of the requirements for the final clinical portfolio.

Consultation is offered in a 6 series package. Readiness to move on to the Certification Capstone Event varies by individual.

Fee: $600 for six meetings
Hours: 9 hrs virtual meetings,  2 hrs independent work
CE’s are not provided, as consultation groups are not eligible for CE credit.
